Flappers & Fedoras

So I am officially 30! I celebrated in twenties' style with my good, good friend Amber, whom I have gotten to know overs these last six years at TFAB (our church). Her husband is our pastor and a very great one. Ok, now that my birthday is over we can start to celebrate Christmas, finally. :)

Sewing Project

Couldn't find the perfect car crib comforter so I decided to make one this weekend. I put flannel on the front and really soft brown fabric on the back with satin binding. Emma approves. Now just need to get a crib sheet that will match.

First Baby Picture

Can't believe January is almost over. We had an amazingly fun December & January. December was filled with Christmas parties, subbing, and nausea. While January was filled with trips, birthday parties, and time with friends. We also took our first weekend away with out Emma Lou. Grandma & Pap came and stayed with her. They are always chomping at the bit to babysit.

This picture was taken over a month ago of the little one, but thought it would be fun to post anyway. It has an amazingly fast heartbeat and we are very excited to find out what it is. I am 15 weeks now and feeling pretty good, most of the time. Now that I am over the worst part of nausea I am back to cooking again. Thought I would post a few of my favorite recipes:

Roast Sticky Chicken
1 whole chicken
4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup onion

Rub spice mixture all over chicken, I like to take off the skin first.
Place chopped onions inside the chicken

Put in a freezer bag for another day. When ready to cook put in the crockpot for 8 hrs on low.
This is one of Sabine's awesome recipes.

Blueberry Muffins
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup blueberries

Preheat to 400. Combine all dry ingredients. Combine all wet ingredients. Mix wet with the dry. Fold in blueberries. Bake 20-25 minutes.
